LDS missionary

Last month I ran into an LDS missionary checking out at Walmart. He was with an older couple. I didn’t have much time, but I felt compelled to say something to him. I introduced myself and immediately told him to check out my website JosephLied.com, since I think it’s clear that Smith was a false prophet. His countenance immediately changed as we both started walking out. He told me something like it’s a great thing that we live in a country that allows for looking at different points of view. I agreed with him, but I then brought him back to the issue. I told him that if he looks at my site, he’ll see how all the evidence demonstrates that Joseph Smith failed every biblical test for being a prophet of God. With that, we said goodbye to each other.

Jacob

I had an interesting experience after I dropped my daughter off at her Wednesday church program. As I was walking out of the church, some guy was sitting right outside and he had a blanket over him. He looked homeless. He asked me if I could take him to the hospital since he was suicidal. He told me his name was Jacob. The hospital was only about 10 minutes away, so instead of spending the time finding out about his situation, I took the opportunity to preach and encourage him.

He seemed like he had some background in Christianity, but he said he had grown far from the Lord. I told him that if God doesn’t exist, then there is no point to life and there is no point if he does take his life. But if God does exist, then life ultimately does have purpose and living does matter. We live for Him. I held up my cross around my neck to Jacob, and said, “We pick up our cross daily and follow Jesus.” Jacob asked, “What does that mean to pick up your cross?” I replied, “It means you are determined to do what God wants even though you want to do otherwise. And you know what He wants for you by meditating on His word throughout the day.”

He asked how long I have been living for Jesus. I told him about growing up in a Christian family and how my dad asked me when I was a young child if I wanted to live for Jesus and go to heaven when I die, or if I didn’t and wanted to go to hell when I die. I chose Jesus, and I told Jacob that he should too. He said that he didn’t want to go to hell either. I told him that no one should want to go there.

We got to the emergency, and I got out of the car to help check him in. I prayed for him, gave him some money, and he hugged me. I told him, “Never give up. Never give up. Never give up.” I also gave him my contact info and directions back to the church. He wanted to go back there and meet the pastors and get a Bible.

So, I met the First LDS missionaries four years ago, and that was the point in my life where my journey started in digging deep into Mormonism and Mormon beliefs after acquiring the Book of Mormon... Wow, I didn't know that Joseph Smith was a MODALIST HERETIC. The plain reading of the Book of Mormon texts says it all, no tap dancing or re-interpretation can change it, so here we go!

"2 And because he dwelleth in flesh he shall be called the Son of God, and having subjected the flesh to the will of the Father, being the FATHER AND THE SON — 3 The Father, because he was conceived by the power of God; and the Son, because of the flesh; thus becoming the FATHER AND SON." - Mosiah 15:2-3

"15 Teach them that redemption cometh through Christ the Lord, WHO IS THE VERY ETERNAL FATHER. Amen." - Mosiah 16:15

"12 And also that ye might know of the coming of Jesus Christ, the SON OF GOD, the FATHER OF HEAVEN AND EARTH, the Creator of all things from the beginning; and that ye might know of the signs of his coming, to the intent that ye might believe on his name." - Helaman 14:12

"14 Behold, I am he who was prepared from the foundation of the world to redeem my people. Behold, I am Jesus Christ. I AM THE FATHER AND THE SON. In me shall all mankind have life, and that eternally, even they who shall believe on my name; and they shall become my sons and my daughters." - Ether 3:14

"7 And in that day that they shall exercise faith in me, saith the Lord, even as the brother of Jared did, that they may become sanctified in me, then will I manifest unto them the things which the brother of Jared saw, even to the unfolding unto them all my revelations, saith Jesus Christ, the SON OF GOD, the FATHER OF THE HEAVENS AND OF THE EARTH, and all things that in them are." - Ether 4:7

[I replied:] The problem is prima facie. It's not conclusive. Why? Because Isa. 9:6 refers to Jesus being the Father as well. However, Trinitarians claim that reference refers to Jesus being the Father of eternity or the creator of all, particularly time. It's not a reference to Jesus being the same person as the Heavenly Father, first person of the Triune God. If that's true, then the same may apply to these passages in the B[ook of] M[ormon].
______________

no bom [Book of Mormon] states their god was first a human then… through obedience and training became a god of many gods then…. from no where found a wife (heavenly mother). then he committed adultery by having sex with mary to get jesus who is also lucifer’s brother.

[I replied:] that was a later doctrine not found in the BOM.

[He replied:] what was?

[I replied:] the way you stated the negative is ambiguous. If you meant, no, since this is what the BM teaches, then you're wrong, since that teaching you stated was not in the BM, but a later development. The point is simply that the BM doesn't teach all that you stated.

[He replied:] no it does not apply to bom 1 your god was first a human your jesus created by your false god having sex with mary. nothing in your bom has to do with Biblical God or biblical Jesus

[I replied:] your double negative in your first sentence is confusing and not good English. If you are claiming these teachings you list, then please give the BM references to support your claim. Btw, I run JosephLied.com.
