Dad speaking to mission teamMission team
Dad and I were able to speak to another mission team last month. This Maven Mission https://maventruth.com/ team was a group of high school students from a church in Georgia. The team was staying at Southeast Christian, so we brought them dinner and spoke to them about ministry to LDS. Eric Hernandez of Maven led this team. He is the apologetics lead for the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
Dad’s LDS friend
My dad has had an ongoing friendship with an LDS guy he met while on vacation passing through St. George, UT a few years ago. I met him a while ago at my folks’ place for dinner and have been praying for him ever since. He’s a real nice guy who is very open and honest about his doctrinal struggles he’s been going through with his church. My dad continues to evangelize him and while my brother from Serbia was out visiting, he met him and discussed the Trinity with him. My dad's friend has even started wearing a cross around his neck, which has caused some consternation among his LDS friends.

Rob speaking to mission teamLast month, while my dad and I were driving back home from talking to the mission team, my dad’s friend called to tell us of all the angst he’s been going through after listening to LDS Michelle Stone promote the traditional Community of Christ (formerly RLDS) view on polygamy and Joseph Smith. We talked to my dad's friend for a half-hour or so. That view holds that Smith was never into polygamy, but it really began with Brigham Young who rewrote history to make it look like Smith originated it. My dad’s friend realizes how ungodly and damaging polygamy has been to women.
I told him that polygamy is indeed evil, and the Bible bears that out when people get involved with it. I also told him that there is a whole other side of the story that makes it more likely than not that Smith did indeed originate polygamy into his church. Just because Smith’s wife denied it is no good reason to dismiss the historical record from the other women who were involved with Smith and his order to burn the first and only issue of the Nauvoo Expositor is best understood as Smith’s reaction to the paper blowing the lid off his polygamy.
Anyway, I ended up praying for my dad’s friend. I prayed that God would continue to draw him to Himself and protect him from Satan’s lies.
Not long after this, my dad told me that his friend was called into the bishop’s office to talk about this polygamy issue. One of the people in his church who he told about this polygamist issue ratted him out. It seems the bishop didn’t do anything about it, but wanted to simply know what was going on.
Please pray for my dad's friend. It's obvious that God is drawing him out of Mormonism into Christ's marvelous light.
PhD update
Last month, I was able to pay the tuition and register for the school year. Please continue to pray that I will be able to finish up this year.
We need your partnership
If you’re looking for ways to store up for yourself treasures in heaven (Matt. 6:19-20), may I suggest investing in our ministry? We not only need your prayers, but we need your financial partnership as well. Keep in mind that your investment is not simply for us, but for the lives of others we reach with the gospel. The standard way to financially invest is by writing a tax-deductible check to Courageous Christians United (CCU). For more information on various ways to invest in this ministry, including online giving, please see our “Invest” page on our sites. If you’re not a partner and are blessed by these monthly updates, please join our team and let us know soon. We’d love to be your missionaries here in Utah. Many thanks to those of you who hold us up in prayer and/or in your financial giving!
Be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:6)!

This whole post is just bizarre and not Christian at all. Instead of building on common faith they mostly are concerned about "proving others wrong" and is pushing it through their kid no less rather than directly themselves.
The authors address is from West Jordan, UT? The equivalent here is me moving to Tehran and having my kid lecture her peers about how Mohamed was XYZ bad things. Or having my kid go to a private Catholic school and having my kid ask all their peers about all the sex abuse coverups, or about the holy war invasions.
TLDR, real Christians build and focus on Christ, unlike the author

[After seeing my post of a crowded Calvary Chapel of St. George...] wow, curious to know how mainstream, evangelical or even charasmtic christianity is growing in that area of mormon dominance,...let the Holy Spirit flow! - i'll have to research things there more.......
[I replied:] huge infux of people moving in from So CA. Still expense for us in Northern Utah. Not for Californians.
[Another replied:] I can attest that I moved to St. George in 2007 and was mormon then! Fastforward within one month I found Calvary St. George and the Pastor there with God changed my life! About HALF of the church is exmo and the other half is from CA! lol. But seriously there are a ton of exmormon's here, and many on their way out!!!! Many new churches have popped up and so many ex mormons, the truth is getting out!!
Also, out of St. George Calvary, we have church planted Hurricane Valley Calvary, Calvary Kanab and Calvary Sevier Valley in Richfield, it's been an amazing ride for sure!!! We go to these all the time!!!
_____________
My assistant Pastor is an ex-mo along with his wife. In men's Bible study once week 5 out of 15 are ex-mo's. All their born again stories are inspiring. I believe we have about another 30 or so ex-mo's in our congregation. 2 were baptized 3 weeks ago. If the Mormon church keeps collapsing they'll be a lot of Christian Churches in this valley undergoing massive building programs. Keep praying for all Mormons to come into the Light.
