LDS Missionaries

Last month we went to have Easter at my parents’ home in South Jordan, UT. After dinner, I noticed a couple LDS missionaries walking past the home, so I took off after them. I found out that they are living just a couple doors down from my parents. So since they are neighbors, I thought it would be a good idea to invite them to my parents’ home and just be neighborly to them by playing our family’s favorite game with one of my daughters. Certain people have the impression that the only way I minister to others is by preaching to them. But that’s just myopic--a judgment based on appearance which Jesus condemned in John 7:24. I am sensitive to the context in which I minister. After we finished the game, I brought them upstairs to meet my parents. My dad asked them about how they’re doing with their worthiness and began to share how the Lord is our righteousness (Jer. 23:6). They had to get going, so I prayed for the Lord to show Himself to them. The next day after I posted their picture on Facebook, some friends who live in South Jordan told me that they have been regularly meeting with these same missionaries to evangelize them. The next week I saw them again after I called them to see if they would help us move a tree and spread mulch in my parents’ backyard. They were happy to come over and help. I think they’ve been a little bored due to COVID. One was supposed to go to Ecuador, but was prevented due to COVID restrictions. These are really great guys; please pray for them!

New Video

For Good Friday, I made a brief video of how Jesus paid for our sins on the cross, not the Garden as LDS claim. You may watch that video here

Last month we had a friend from our church come and share his story to our monthly Feast & Testimony meeting. Chad has a wild story which I’m sure will encourage you in God’s grace. You may watch that and see the pictures on the website linked above.

Dissertation

I am still working on my the first draft of my research proposal. I have one more section to complete prior to sending it to my supervisor. I already have 44 pages! One of my partners in our ministry has volunteered to edit the dissertation. She has a background in law editing, so she has been a tremendous help thus far.

Tara being loaded on the ambulance
Update on Tara

Many of you heard that Tara was in a hit and run accident in her car on Good Friday. She suffered a concussion and was taken by ambulance to the hospital a couple miles away. The cost for that was about $2,000. There were many other charges from the brief afternoon stay to get all checked out. Our personal injury only covers $3,000, so please pray that God will provide for us. The whole passenger side of the car needed repair. The total was around $5,700 in damages. We had to pay our $1,000 deductible since no one could identify the culprit.

Tara was finishing off the end of her semester at the Occupational Therapy Grad program at the University of Utah, and was having a terrible time concentrating for a prolonged period of time and was getting headaches. I am happy to report that she quickly recovered and successfully passed all her classes! Thanks much to those of you who prayed!

We Need Your Partnership!

We not only need your prayers, but we need your financial partnership as well. Keep in mind that your investment is not simply for us, but for the lives of others we reach with the gospel. The standard way to financially invest is by writing a tax-deductible check to Courageous Christians United (CCU). For more information on various ways to invest in this ministry, including online giving, please see our “Invest” page on our sites. Please keep in mind we have no financial guarantees each month. Ministry partners come and go. If you’re not a partner and are blessed by these monthly updates, please consider joining our team and let us know soon. We’d love to be your missionaries here in Utah. Many thanks to those of you who hold us up in prayer and/or in your financial giving!

We expect God to provide for our needs through you. Why? Because the Bible is clear: “the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel” (1 Cor. 9:14).

Be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:6)!

How did LDS come up with the idea that Jesus paid for/atoned for man, ONLY RESURRECTION/AND NOT ANY PAYMENT FOR OUR SIN(S)?

THEY SAY HE SWEAT FOR OUR SINS?? BUT REALLY MEAN HE PROCURED THE POSSIBILITY OF RESURRECTION?
MORMONS BELIEVE THEY SIN BUT DONT INHERIT THAT NATURE.

HOW IS THAT AT ONE MENT?
WHO FIRST CAME UP WITH THAT TWIST AND AWAY FROM WHAT THE BOM TEACHES?
Only quick answer and where to look if possible.
Thanks.

[I replied:] The devil inspired them.
